Why do I write this article about bicycle helmet review? Because it is very interesting to see how many truths there exist when we speak about bike helmets.

What People Say...

“Since all helmets must meet safety requirements, you're only paying for style when you pay more”

Do you agree with that?

I do not.

There are many other important characteristics that must be considered when you buy your bike helmet.

For example lightweight that is very important quality on a long ride. Or comfort.

Such as extra padding. Better adjustability. And many more features that are more important than merely design of your helmet.

“Bike helmets are only for kids and newbies”

How about that?

I disagree completely. Bike helmet should be a part of your body when you are on your bike. No matter whether you are professional, newbie or just a kid – the head is still the most vulnerable and important part of your body.

Use it for thinking not for absorbing the crash...

“Bike helmet is just too impractical. What to do with it when I lock my bike outside?”

What do you think?

I personally believe there is some reasoning in this approach. Any additional stuff that must be carried in hands when you are off your bike can become annoying.

You won’t sit in your office or at school with your helmet on. You probably will take it off in grocery store and… at cinema.

However, discomfort having one additional thing in your hands is smaller compared with discomfort when your head without a helmet knocks the ground.
